Overcoming Fears
Any change or departure from our ‘routine’ way of liv- ing causes anxiety, especially if we are creatures of habit. However, although change can be frightening at times, it sparks the flame of progress. If we did not accept the in- novations of the Industrial Revolution, where would we be today? The horse-and-buggy days lulled us into a simpler way of life, but we chose to advance, think outside the box, and take the plunge to move forward into the future. So must we proceed now, with hope, faith, and love in our hearts.
Our Perspective
No matter what changes take place in our outer envi- ronment, God wants us to love each other, extend helping hands, reach out beyond the narrow scope of our under- standing, and have the courage to try something new. The Creator never gives us more than we can handle. So, if we have to depart from our ‘usual’ way of life, either for a brief period or long-term, we must do so with faithful resigna- tion and purpose. In the process, we must enjoy and be grateful for our blessings of love, knowledge, friendship, and goodwill and, in turn, give them to others. In such a way, our blessings can spread—much more powerfully than any virus— throughout the world.
