Concentrate On Your Motivation Level
As an at-home employee or entrepreneur, it is crucial to keep your motivation at the highest level. Losing interest in your work or becoming distracted is the death knell of your process.
One inspiring motivational factor is the realization that you and your product matter—to someone or to many. Your expertise has an impact on others, and therefore, you must accomplish the task at hand in the most efficient, loving manner. Your level of commitment always shows. If you love what you do, you never will feel like you are working, and you will create the best product. In and of itself, that knowledge will propel you from one level to the next. Love is always in the details, and your finished prod- uct will reflect the extent of your devotion, expertise, and commitment.
Address Pressing Urgencies, Maximize Empowerment
When working from a home office, you will, invariably, encounter issues that demand your attention outside of work (e.g., structural malfunctions in your home, fam- ily emergencies, etc.). Know that these issues are natu- ral consequences of being an independent employee/sole practitioner, running your own office. The most important thing to remember is: go where you are needed. Don’t consider pressing issues outside of work as “distractions,” but as a chance to show accountability in another way. Address the things that pull you away from work as an op- portunity to explore other aspects of your life and offer help where you can. Ignoring or ‘sweeping matters under the rug’ does not make them vanish. Sooner or later, you must deal with these issues, and when you do, you become the best of yourself—all that the Creator wants you to be.
