chapter 10 — vehicle and air brake pre-trip inspections
Class 3 1. Check that left-turn signal, low-beam headlights, tail lights, licence plate
pre-trip inspection lights, and clearance lights are working.
Turn off left-turn signal. Turn on high-beam headlights and right-turn signal.
2. Check that right-turn signal and high-beam headlights are working.
3. Check that brake lights are working.
Return to cab. Turn off lights. Turn off engine.
5. Mechanical circle check
Leave cab and begin circle check.

Check for air leakage with ❏ Steps and hand rails • ensure they’re secure
the engine off. This allows
you to listen for leaks.
❏ Fuel tanks • ensure tanks, fuel caps and fuel lines are
