Data warehouse service (additional service)
General Approach
To provide you a local copy of the Provet Cloud database containing all of your key client and patient
data, we can arrange a Data Warehouse database, which replicates the same data as the actual running
production database in. This allows you to have all the data locally available at your own server.
This setup is not required for the basic usage of Provet Cloud, but is recommended to provide you a copy
on-premises. This is subject to your requests. Replication is to be set up as daily snapshot (optionally as
real-time replication for additional fee).
Technical background
Local database replica of the Provet Cloud MariaDB database can be arranged for you typically as a daily
snapshot.
The Local replica allows you to use MySQL ODBC connector for any kind of data mining and analysing.
This backup / data mining database will be then separated from the production databases to make sure
the production databases stay undisturbed and fully functional at all times even during very heavy data
mining operations. In the unlikely case of losing Provet Cloud functionality, you may access the data
from your local replicated copy from the database. Replicate database to be used only for read-only
purposes.
In addition to databases, all attachment files can be set to be replicated too your local server by using
rsync or similar tool.
Networking
We will allow your MySQL replication server to access Provet Cloud’s database server from a defined
public ip address/addresses.
The data transfer connection will be encrypted with TLS/SSL or SSH encryption, so that all data is always
encrypted during transfer over the Internet. Same applies to all attachment file transfers.
