arBor Knot



 A knot that attaches one end of the
 line to the arbor of the reel.

 Any sliding loop that attaches the fishing line to the ar-
 bor (spindle) of the reel is known as an arbor knot (or
 reel knot). When the knot is tightened, it jams against the
 arbor, allowing the remainder of the line to be spooled
 onto the reel.
