SLIP KnOt (SIMPLe nOOSe)

The simplest of sliding loops that tightens
 when pulled.

The slip knot, also known as the simple noose, can be tied
in any type of cordage material, be it synthetic or natural
fiber. It works well as the start of a lashing. This knot ap-
pears to be an overhand with a draw loop. However, in
an overhand with draw loop, the working end forms the
loop. In a slip knot, the standing part forms the loop.
