CLOve hItCh On a StaKe
A variation of the clove hitch used
for tying a rope to a stake.
This method of tying a clove hitch requires two hands but
allows the rope to be dropped quickly over a stake or post
instead of tying the knot around the object. As a bonus,
it can be tied at any point in a rope. An ancient knot, the
clove hitch is at least 10,000 years old. When a quick hitch
is needed, climbers and boaters use this knot.
