German Stupa

One of the most renowned stupas in Lumbini, the Great Lotus Stupa was constructed
by the German Tara Foundation and is located on the west side of the Lumbini
Monastic Zone. A hollow crown that is partially covered in glass and displays a Buddha

statue inside the stupa is part of the foundation. The building is surrounded by gold,
wood, antiquities, and Buddhist ceiling murals that convey a message of peace and
nonviolence. The Stupa's design, which was inspired by the Buddha's teachings and the

works of the famous Tibetan scholar Rigzin Choskyi Drakpa, is its main draw.
