In 1995, Winifred (Parker) White was the
President of the NAACP of Ozaukee County.
Winifred and Frieda (Parker) Jefferson both
lived in Mequon with their families. Both of
them and their husbands were life members
of the Ozaukee Branch. After enrolling at
Purdue in the fall of 1946, Winifred, Frieda
and their parents led the campaign that
compelled Purdue to integrate its student
housing. The residence buildings formerly
known as Griffin Hall will now be called
Frieda Parker Hall and Winifred Parker Hall.
