          2021 UPAAA DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI


          How did the front line professionals serve their ,community over and
          beyond the call of duty?

           MODERATOR


                                         W®ÄÝãÊÄ Uý®, M.D., F.A.A.P. is UPAAA’s Chairman of the
                                         Ways and Means Commi ee and Co‐chair of the Sponsorship Com‐
                                         mi ee for the UPAAA GRC 2021. Besides serving concurrently as Presi‐
                                         dent of the Handang Tumulong Founda on, Inc. and Vice Chairman of

                                         the Board of Governors of the University of the Philippines Medical
                                         Alumni Society in America, he is also an avid marathoner and a busy pe‐
                                         diatrician in solo private prac ce in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was one
                                         of 2019’s UPAAA Dis nguished Alumni Awardees in Pediatrics.  Winston
                                         graduated cum laude in BS Psychology from UP Diliman in 1988, and
          obtained his medical degree from the College of Medicine of UP Manila in 1994.


           PANELISTS

           Nƒã«ƒ½®› “NƒÄěãã›” B›Ù㐛 Qç®ÊÄ,

                     has been a pediatrician in Washington DC for the past 20 years.
           She is the Medical Director of the Children’s Na onal at Columbia Heights,
           a ending Children’s Na onal Hospital, Assistant Professor at George Wash‐
           ington University, current President of the Philippine Medical Associa on
           Washington DC, leader and advocate for Immigrant Child Health, American
           Academy of Pediatrics, columnist for Raising Juan, Founder and Chair of
           UERM Young Alumni Development Program, mother of five, and wife to Dr.
           Jun Anthony Quion.  Nanne e obtained her degrees from various universi‐
            es: BS Zoology, UP Diliman; Doctor of Medicine, UERM; General Pediatrics,

           University of Texas Health Sciences; Masters of Public Health, University of
           Massachuse s; and Master Teacher‐and Leadership Program, George Washington University.

                                       㫛 E½—›Ù½ù. Jazmin and all her seven sisters finished grade school and high
                                       school at St. Paul College of Manila. Then she headed to the University of
                                       the Philippines in 1968 where she pursued a degree in Bachelor of Arts,
                                       majoring in Poli cal Science, and finished in 1972. She headed straight to
                                       law school in 1972 and graduated in 1976. She took the bar exams in No‐
                                       vember 1972 and became a full member of the Philippine Bar in 1977.
                                       Jazmin prac ced law in the Philippines for 10 years and le  in 1986 during
                                       the height of poli cal turmoil in the Philippines.  Together with her three
                                       children, Jazmin se led in Los Angeles, USA where she started opera ng
           residen al care facili es for the elderly in 1986. She is ready to transi on to re rement at the end of
           the year a er 35 years in the re rement home industry.
