Rita’s Collection
Rita still cannot let go of what she sketched as a teenager. The next fifteen chapters show the diversity
of what she kept for herself.
The thirty years she lived in Malibu enriched and multiplied her landscape and seascape paintings. A
few of her paintings show the summer chore of pulling weeds by hand. Many of her ballet scenes were
inspired by ballet dancers at Pepperdine University.
Rita joined the recycling movement by incorporating old computer Cd’s and actual tree bark into her
mixed media paintings. She also used the Cd’s and tree bark to make her own line of jewelry.
Her Las Vegas Showgirl paintings were inspired in 2013 after she twice saw the Jubilee extravaganza
at Bally’s Casino.
Some of the frames in the collection are authentic French frames purchased from Mr. Edgardo Acosta
himself before he retired and closed his Edgardo Acosta Gallery Ltd. in Beverly Hills.
Where applicable, paintings are identified with serial numbers.

Her favorite Pomeranian Bambi was waiting for her to come back.
