The roof of one of the buildings that BKB (Barkly
East) uses as a store, collapsed under the weight of
the snow on Monday night/ Tuesday morning.
In Places the snow was over 40 cm deep in town.
Many branches broke off trees and we have heard
of at least two car ports roofs that collapsed. One
collapsed on top of the vehicles below. Fortunately
the vehicles were not damaged.
We trust that there will not be more snow before
the snow still packed on the roofs has melted!
