Valdosta CSC has been partnering with Lowndes County High School (LHS) Drivers

Education Department to attend Drivers Education classes during the school year.
LHS provides driver education classes to approximately 600 students during the
school year. That is 600 young drivers we can reach out to and make their driving
test experience better. We attended 2 sessions last school year, and we will
continue this tradition 2023-2024 school year.

Our first event was on Wednesday September 14, 2023. Team Lead Karen Agnese
and Assistant Manager Keith Phillips went to LHS to speak to the students in the
driver’s education classes. They explained the procedure for getting a Class D
License. They told the students what documents to bring to take their road test and
what to expect to do when taking the road test. They explained the importance of
Joshua’s Law and how it came about.

During the day, they spoke to four different classes and answered all their
questions and passed out literature explaining how to schedule a road test and
what documents to bring. We feel that this will help them to be better prepared
when coming to the center for their road test. Over-all they felt like they had a
productive day helping the students to understand what to expect when coming in
for their road test. The instructors and the students were very receptive to us and
asked a lot of questions. They enjoyed our visit, and they had a good day.
