Project Receives Technology Award

Honk for Online Reservations!
Commissioner Moore and members of the Information Technology (IT)
Team recently accepted a state technology award for the Online Road Test
Reservation System. The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) presents awards
each year during the Georgia Technology Innovation Showcase to recognizes IT
achievements in state and local agencies.
“I am extremely proud of this award that has created an efficient way for
customers to make a road test and is a testament to our commitment to
provide exceptional services to our customers,” said Commissioner Moore.
Since the launch date, the online system has decreased the amount of calls
the Contact Center received from customers. In September 2018, customers
made 14,000 more online reservations than calls to the Contact Center. In 2019,
customers made over 17,000 more online reservations than calls.
“Your agency is setting an example for others to follow in its innovative
use of technology, and GTA is pleased to help make others aware of your
accomplishments,” said Calvin C. Rhodes, State of Georgia Chief Information
Officer and Executive Director.
