People and Technology Working Together
DDS is planning for the future by expanding technology! One very exciting project on the horizon is the ad-
dition of license renewal Kiosks. The Kiosk is similar to those used by the Department of Revenue at 53 Kroger
locations. DDS is working on joining DOR at those Kroger locations enabling customers to renew their vehicle
registration and drivers license at the same time!
In addition, DDS has asked for the funding to place Kiosks at 15 CSCs with high renewal demand. This gives
customers another option. They will be able to renew and print an Interim from the Kiosk instead of waiting to
be called to the counter for the same service that the Kiosk will provide.
This will be time saving for the customers, and it will enable our driver examiners to have additional time to as-
sist those customers who have more complicated transactions. DDS will always need examiners, and the kiosk
project will not reduce the number of examiners for the agency. The kiosks will only supplement the important
work of our examiners as we continue to see population growth in Georgia.
