What drove you to pursue videography?
I decided to work in videography because it is an immersive experience. By producing video, you’re able to create something that can be experienced by the viewer’s entire being. It’s the best way to tell stories that need to be heard.
What would you say your videography style is? And for those of us outside the business can you explain what that is?
In terms of style, I believe it depends on the type of project, right. Depending on what you’re shooting is how you shoot and what you’re looking for. I aim to tell a story and give a message with almost everything I shoot. I’ve
recently been getting into Narrative Filmmaking, which is filmmaking of a fictional story. I love it because it requires more problem solving and in-depth thinking to achieve the result you’re looking for. That means more collaboration with others and learning more about the different nuances of filmmaking in general.
Who would you say influences your videography style the most?
Who do you get your inspiration from when shooting?
Youtubers online! One is called Matt D’Avella, who is excellent at storytelling, Danny Gervitz and Spenser Sakurai for cinematography and lighting techniques, and the guys at Film Riot, amongst many others that I watch and learn from on a daily/weekly basis.
