House of Lafrance Magazine - F/W20

I‘ll let you in a little secret. As folks march in the streets to make their unified voices heard, House of Lafrance has been doing the same! How? You might ask. Well, making a stand doesn’t have to be marching only. I have always encouraged diversity in HOL. I receive work from all over the united states and sometimes abroad, each telling an unsung story. Our pages have always been about giving a microphone to the unheard, shedding light on the unseen, and giving them
the ability to put their best foot forward, regardless of their ethnic backgrounds or race.
Come to think of it, not many local publications are taking that route! Sometimes, it’s whom they know, references from previous participants, and social media. I know the struggle to find artists and be the artist. I have been fortunate and unfortunate enough to be on both sides of the needle. But there is hope!
A lot of companies are making (long overdue) changes to accommodate more diversity. I have yet to see these changes in the creative industry and with publications. Usually, when there is a void, someone takes on the responsibility of creating a platform to fill that void (Essence magazine, HOL magazine...). We need diversity! I can tell you from personal experience that diversity enriches your company, your magazine, and your work environment. Diversity enriches the United States of America! (Period)
I hope our HOL pages will give you access to exciting and diverse talents that you did not know about before. And feel free to reach out to us with any and anything you have in mind. No one is left behind here!
