How did you get into hairstyling?
As a little girl, I loved to play dress-up with my friends & as I got older it turned into exper- imenting on them with haircuts, colors, updos & makeup. The look on their faces when I finished was such a rewarding feeling, I wanted to continue to spark that love for oneself, daily. I wanted to be, as Paul Mitchell refers, “a day maker.” When I was 21, I enrolled in Paul Mitchell the School in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was time to gain a higher education & deeper knowledge of what I was doing. I thrived, absolutely took full advantage of my schooling- joined all the clubs, did all the competitions & excelled in my academics. After I graduated I spent the next seven years devoted to the industry as an educator & stylist. In my years of teaching for the Paul Mitchell Schools, I became highly certified in cutting, color, make-up, & texture. Cosmetology became the first tool in my belt & laid the unique foundation for my future career in Art & Music.

Collecting “AHA” moments & personalizing them into my own creations. Everything in life is ART! Everything we see can be the inspiration, we are the translators!
I love the bright colors and styles in this shoot! tell us more about your inspiration for this.
The concept for this shoot was “ART ABDUCTION.” This was my first photoshoot I had done in Florida & I wanted to impact the creatives in this area in a big way. I wanted everyone who was a part of it to never be the same. I wanted to beam them up and show them a new world. A wave of self-empowerment, inspiration & acceptance. Bringing out the inner galactic alien who isn’t afraid to be different. Celebrating our uniqueness together while pushing comfort zones.
Working for Paul Mitchell for seven years allowed me to be certified in cutting, color, styling & makeup. In the Paul Mitch- ell schools, I worked as a make-up specialist, color specialist & design team leader. I’ve never put any limits on what was possible for me to learn. We truly are the only species that can learn anything we desire, mix that with the internet & we be-
