So many times I’ve heard that people don’t like change. Yet we actually live with change all the time. Every year we watch the trees change as they bud, blossom, put out leaves, and then drop them again in the autumn. When I was a child everyone had their milk delivered to their door, now hardly anyone does. There were black, blue and maybe red pens, and now there is almost endless varieties of every colour, thickness, opacity, and even metallics and scented pens.
Another thing about change: it wasn’t our idea. God has always been doing new things, disturbing the present, as Catherine Booth once put it, and calling us forward into His acts of creation with wonder and trust and faith.
As things start to shift again, and we make our way towards new normals, let me encourage you to remember that you’ve lived through and survived many changes over your life, even if you’re still quite young. Change is part of being alive. And we have God our Father walking alongside us every day. So keep walking, and keep trusting, and let’s see what God is going to do next.
Every blessing,
Lynne and Darren.
