Time & Talents
‘Time and talents’. Why? Well I’ve been thinking about what I’ve done with my time over this past year whilst not being able to do usual activities at the Corps, and have been asking myself if I’ve used my extra time wisely or frittered it away extravagantly.
By day I’ve continued working for the NHS with new ways of working in place, being split between going into the office and working from home, getting to grips with new technology and steep learning curves, different pressures and so on, and have been blessed with the company of Lottie (our Cockapoo) on the days I’m working from home.
She enjoys ‘coming to work’ with me in the home office and keeping me company... she’s my ‘bestest’ work colleague. Thank you Lord... and always gets to the office first!!
In evenings/weekends I’ve decorated various rooms, done gardening, we’ve finally had work done to our house which we’ve been saving for 5 years for, hallelujah. I’ve also turned my hand to upholstery with the aid of learning from
YouTube posts. Something I’ve feared and put off trying for so long. I came across this saying by Eleanor Roosevelt which spoke volumes to me:
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face... The danger lies in refusing to face the fear, in not daring to come to grips with it. You must make yourself succeed every time. You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
