A Word from Patience
Hello, my name is Patience Moyo. I am a mother, wife and a nurse by profession. I am married to Dinky since August 2005. We got married at the Salvation Army, Eccles Citadel in Salford near Manchester by Captain Imogen Stewart.
I have 2 children Donnell 14 and Tia 10 who are members of the JAM (Jesus and Me) Club.
I was born in Zimbabwe many many years ago.
I relocated to the UK in 2002 and started my nurse training at Salford University. I qualified as a Staff Nurse in 2007 and relocated to Scunthorpe as Dinky had got a job at Corus (now British Steel)... didn't even know such a place existed. I don't regret the move as I have made exceptional progress in my nursing career and now work as a Nurse Endoscopist, (use a tube with a camera to examine the oesophagus, stomach and beginning of the small bowel to look for any abnormalities of the Upper GI tract) a job I love (though my patients don't love me) and have been in this speciality since 2009.
As a family we love travelling, eating out, and since the Covid lockdown last year we have discovered camping, and walking in and around
Yorkshire as we could not travel abroad. I am not so keen
on the British weather. You would think I must be used to it
by now but I still do whinge about it.
My mom and my maternal grandparents and the extended
family are all Salvationists, therefore I practically grew up
and was raised as a Salvationist. My grandmother taught us
to pray and even up to now at 81, she still encourages me
to continue praying and staying in God's presence. When
growing up Sundays were spent in Church almost all day,
starting off with Sunday School as a junior soldier from
10am till 12midday while the adults were attending the Holiness meeting.
