I do not know what lies ahead,
The way I cannot see. Yet one stands near to be my guide,
He'll show the way to me.
There is one commodity that many of us have found during this lockdown............its spare time. During my spare time, I have tried many activities, some with a deal of success, and others not so much. These have included cake making, soup making, painting, car washing, baritone cleaning and even latch hook needlecraft.
My most enjoyable challenge was the building of my Lego sports car. I opened the box (marked suitable for 5 years upward) and the thousands of pieces fell out on to my work tray, followed by the thump of the paperback manual. As it fell on to the table, picking up piece by piece, casting fleeting glances toward the Instruction Manual; Who needs to read the manual?! I begin to work on the model; success is slow but sure.
Then I come across a piece that just doesn't sit quite right. What has gone wrong? Have I chosen the right piece? Is it positioned correctly? I am getting frustrated, and after many fruitless attempts, I decide to turn to the Manual.
In there I found the solution to my problem; I was trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, so in the end I decided to follow the Manual to its conclusion and it produced the perfect model sports car.
As christian people we have our own manual for life, it’s our Bible. Solutions, praises, joys, prayers
and ideas are all found in the Bible. We only need to take our time and concentrate all our thoughts and actions on what we can find in our Manual for Life.
