INSERT THE WRIST PIN ROD TOOL AND IN ONE SMOOTH AND VERY FIRM MOTION...

Here is the tube inserted into the engine, and butted up against the piston. Now comes the tricky part. ...

It takes a very high quality borescope
to complete the process at this point. You
need a borescope with a side viewer function
(90 degrees) so we can slide the borescope
in the tube, then see the sides of the tube in
relation to the piston, as well as the groove 7 the clip should sit in. The cheap scopes with
the little mirrors you put on the end I don’t
recommend; the view isn’t as sharp, and if the
end comes off your scope, it can end up in the
motor.
See Picture 8
Once the tube is confirmed to be correct,
insert the wrist pin rod tool and in one smooth
and very firm motion, slam the tool into the
tube as far as it will go and hold it firmly in.
This will push the clip out of the insertion
tube, and into the piston. Too slow (or if you
slam it in and remove the tool too quickly), #8 and you will create a gap between the tube
and the piston, and the clip will fail to insert.
