I had saved up some money and my Dad was going to spot me the difference. My dad took me to a car builder in Missouri when I was 15 years old. I remember a barn with
a few cool looking “race cars” in the barn. The guy selling the car built cars for local dirt track racing and I-70 Speedway. He was selling their Camaro because his daughter didn’t like it. Thus my first car
was a 1969 Camaro, dark blue, with a “built” 327 with a high rise Weiand manifold, headers, high compression, and a large Holley carburetor. It sounded mean and I remember it being fast when it ran, but we had a hard time keeping it running well, so it was sold a few months later. I was able to drive a Firebird Trans Am for most of my senior year of high school.
  11TOP 3 CARS TO OWN?
Ever since high school the holy grail for me has been a Porsche Turbo. Make that a cabriolet Turbo S model please.
A Porsche GT3 Touring with a PDK would do nicely.
Any number of 4 door sport sedans (Panamera GTS or Turbo, Cadillac CT5 Blackwing, Audi RS5)
12FAVORITE VACATION DESTINATION?
Egypt – most interesting.
Sequoia National Forest – most surrealistic/magical
Colorado – It’s close and there’s lots of beautiful places to see
Cherokee Dude Ranch (Livermore, Colorado) – most relaxing
France – the food
I first met John, as most members, at breakfast. His quiet manner soon opened up after asking a few questions about his car. I quickly learned he had owned several before
this 2013 cab. The white red combo is striking and a bold statement for such a quite reserved guy. I must admit, I do like it. Please say hello to John when you see him. ~ Editor
