I have written why my series of cars have been special to me. What
I have not written about is my wall of novelty memorabilia. On that wall is a little wind-up toy, a 1989 930 Slantnose Cabriolet Porsche in Glacier White. My parents gave it to me many moons ago. It holds a spot dead center on my shelves. Beside it is another toy, a wind-up 2001 996 Turbo Porsche also in white. It was given to me by my lovely wife. (Yes, it is still in the box.) Both cars come from different eras of my life, but are tied very closely together. Maybe someday my garage will mimic my shelf. Someday.
For now, I have a tall bourbon poured and a book to read. It is going to be a good evening. Thank you, Mom, for the Christmas present.
