customization of the AFR ratio the O2 sensor manages for the car. When the car isn’t receiving a signal from the O2 sensor, a special control is being placed between the MAF sensor and the ECU that allows control over the input voltage as increases or reductions in voltage coming from the MAF. I am endlessly tinkering with the tuning of it and this should guarantee I’ll never get bored for quite some time.
Paint and wheels. Special dual rate springs and conversion from engine- driven cooling to electric. Short shift kit. Just completed LED light upgrades for fog lights and head lights. There are other items as well.
9. Favorite memory with a car?
When I was younger, I worked for a man who sold precious and semi-precious stones and high-carat gold jewelry on the wholesale level; this was while I was in college and we traveled extensively doing trade shows on many weekends. In the summer months, when I wasn’t in school, he would send me across the state in his 1986 Corvette..a rst-year Tuned Port Injection car. I lived in extreme western North Carolina at the time and I would drive all the way to the coast, over 8 hours, with a car full of merchandise to work with his customers...he sent me
8. Have you personalized your car?
because he knew I loved the car and it was a chance for me to get away for a week or so. In my mid-twenties, this car had a thunderous amount of torque...by far the fastest car I’d ever been in, let alone driven. It was unbelievable fun to open it up on the interstate over and over and over again. It was a strong car.
I was a teenager when the 928 was being made... This is actually my 2nd Porsche. My rst one was a 996 triple black car... very nice car...but unfortunately a time came when I had to make a choice and it really wasn’t a choice..the 996 was let go. The more I learned about the 928 the more I liked it. When I learned it had a V8, I knew the car was for me.
11. High school nickname?
No nicknames in high school...a few people called me Mickey G in college..I was selling precious stones then, so I would frequently be on campus in my boss’ Corvette or another car that I truly adored...a big-body Mercedes 380SEL AMG...one of the early ones...with body kit and suspension upgrades but no engine work. It was metallic chocolate brown including the 5 spoke AMG wheels. It had gold emblems on it and with the body kit it had it looked like it was a mile long..the car is longer than any Cadillac or Lincoln of that day and everybody loved it..it was totally ‘80s gangster. The car had a 3.8 liter V8 and would lay rubber shifting into 2nd gear; it was a great runner.
