Back in July of 2016 I spent months
looking for a bright blue GT3, only to purchase a guards red car in the end. During this time I attended an event hosted by the Colorado Springs Region. The event started with a mixer hosted by Porsche of Colorado Springs with the entire staff be- ing very accommodating, which left a very good impression. I told myself, if they ever got a blue GT3 we would do business.
In the Fall of 2017, I got my blue car - sort of. I attended Porsche Palooza in Eureka Springs, Ark.. The organizer drives a bright blue air-cooled Porsche, all of the awards were deco- rated in bright blue paint and I won a raf e prize which was a bright blue GT3RS 4.0 in 1:18 scale model and the People’s choice award for my class in bright blue, of course. You just can’t make this stuff up! A blue Porsche was my destiny.
In Dec of 2017, I notice a 3500 mile 2015 Porsche GT3 in Riviera blue at Porsche of Colorado Springs. My eyes were in- stantly drawn to the color and that it was a GT3. My heart rate went up just a little just thinking this could be the next Porsche in the garage. GT3’s are, in my opinion, a no compromise sort of sports car. The stance, perfect. The exhaust note, sublime. The suspension set up from the factory, excellent. The no sun- roof by design, plus more bright blue paint. Rear wheel steer- ing to help you slingshot through the turns, simply magical.
Porschephiles, need I say more? Then, the hook. (See video link) The Porsche Brand Ambassador sending a nice video of the bright blue GT3 was enough for me to take the leap. When I visited Porsche of Colorado Springs to inspect and purchase the GT3, I was not disappointed in the level of service or the bright blue beast sitting on the showroom oor. The stars did indeed align and Rivy has been a visual, auditory and from the seat of your pants driving pleasure indeed. - Fred

It’s interesting when stars align in a car guy’s world. My Riviera Blue 2015 Porsche GT3, affectionately known as “Rivy”, is the culmination of great memo- ries from the past, current endless search- es now, and twist of events that I had the pleasure of recently attending.
