with Toby’s Turbo car giving him fits and wouldn’t run. It had to be towed back to the city.
After the police escorts dropped us at the county line, we ventured back up County Road 375 to DD, where we en- tered the Wollenman estate. Bob and Connie’s home has the perfect long graceful driveway that wraps around the front acreage and leads up to the main
home. It is the perfect space for an event such as ours.
We parked the cars strategically, lin- ing them up along the drive. One by one, we stepped out of our cars laugh- ing and smiling at the adventure we had just taken part in. “Ya, I’m pretty sure the policeblewsometrafficsignalsforus”, we laughed. Each person added to the growing story. There is something about going for a drive with a group of friends. It just brings everyone together.
Meanwhile, VanZino’s BBQ patient- ly waited our arrival. Connie and Bob had setup the barn and stable room to a T for the sit down meal. Everyone sat and got stuffed on the best smoked meats in Northwest MO, and swapped stories about the grand 45 miles we had just ventured. We saw several new faces at this year’s event, which makes it all worthwhile. Until next year......
