temperatures that occasionally sputtered past 103 degrees with added shirt wringing humidity, the faithful never let that hold back their enjoyment or enthusiasm.
In order to pull off this family reunion, it took people; lots of people. Volunteers came from every corner of North America, and they all brought their smiles. There was the lady greeter at Tan-Tar-A’s main gate, the red shirted golf cart drivers passing out much requested bottles of ice cold water during the concours; club members assisting boys and girls as they honed their skills on the RC car course, and still more that withstood the shimmering heat on the asphalt parking lots at the autocrosses, and numerous volunteers playing lead and sweeper for the rallies taking us to points near and far.
Sunday evening saw nearly 1500 attendees sit down for the Pirelli Welcome
to its lineup, the Taycan (tie-cahn) . This beautiful vehicle, formerly known as the Mission E, is an all electric four door sports car. Boys and girls, men and women, all crowded toward the display platform. The Taycan is definitely a more stunning vehicle when seen in person. Now we can add another road worthy addition to the Porsche family of fine cars.
A big thank you needs to go to Aristocrat Motors. They always put on great events. And, for our Kansas City region, Aristocrat hosted a delightful gathering on Monday evening. We gathered at the Jefferson, a very nice restaurant just a stone’s throw from Tan- Tar-A. Robert Hellweg was there to greet all the KCRPCA members, as was Chuck OBrien. A special thank you to Marion Battaglia for bringing us all together.
