In January 2015, I received an email
from PCA about a new 911 GTS Club
Coupe to honor the club’s 60th anniver-
sary. As I read the article, and looked at
the photos, I was intrigued by what I was
reading about the car; only 60 cars would
be produced in a unique color named
“Club Blau”, the cars would only come to
the USA, 20” Fuch style wheels, Ducktail Rear Spoiler, doors marked with “Club Coupe” model designations, Carbon Fiber trim with “GTS Club Coupe 60 Years Porsche Club of America” above the glove box, “60” embossed on the center armrest, and Alcantara interior and wrapped steering wheel, with two tone deviated stitching in Carmine Red and Blue. In addition, this car was the last year of the naturally aspirated engines (except for the GT3) and was only 20 hp shy of the GT3.
  Dimensions: 177.5 in x 72.9 in
Weight: 3241 lbs
Zero to 60 mph: 3.8 sec, 189 mph top speed Standing 1⁄4 mile: 11.9 sec
I was not in the market for a new car, and satisfied with my 997.2 Turbo, but this car looked like something that would be fun to own. Once I got to the end of the article, there was a catch; the cars would only be available for purchase by lottery. However, there was no charge to register and there was no obli- gation to purchase the vehicle.
Shortly after receiving the email from PCA, my brother, who is a PCA member in the Denver area, sent me the same email. He said that these cars will be worth more than the average 2015 911 in the future. In fact, the PCA article stated the last time PCA and Porsche collaborated to produce a 2006 911 Club Coupe, you rarely see the cars for sale, and if you do, they sell for MSRP or more.
So, I thought to myself, what do I have to lose? It is a lottery that doesn’t cost anything to enter, no obligation to buy, a great car, and maybe a newer model car that doesn’t depreciate so fast.
In December 2015, the car was delivered to Aristocrat. You know the rest of the story.
