#2 Fluids: --Transfer Case fluid can be found online or at your local dealer. Stick to OE spec fluids. You will need 1 quart, which runs almost $70. This is a GL-4 S-tec TF-0780 fluid. --Front and rear differential fluids: You have a little more wiggle room here as this fluid is more standard. I typically use Redline Full Synthetic GL-5 75w- 90. If you have the rear diff with PTV in the newer Cayennes, then you will need a different fluid for the rear such as Motul 300LS. You will need 3 quarts of this. 2 for the rear, 1 for the front. You will have a bit of fluid left over. Starting at the rear of the vehicle, locate the rear differential. It looks like this: You will see I have marked the fill and the drain plugs with an orange marker, which are removed with an 8mm allen tool. See Pic 2 This step is incredibly important. Read this step for every component you are changing fluids on! ALWAYS remove the higher fill plug first. The reason for this is if for some reason you strip the head of the fill plug while removing it, you are going to be in a real jam if you have drained the fluid already. This doesn’t happen often, but if you use a cheap allen tool, or the plug is corroded enough, you may be faced with this. There are other ways you will have to deal with getting the plugs out at that point which I won’t go into detail, but usually those projects PIC Starting at the rear of the vehicle, locate the rear differential. It looks like this: You will see I have marked the fill and the drain plugs with an orange marker, which are removed with an 8mm allen tool. #3 26 PIC Der Sportwagen
