FROM THE TOP 60 YEAR ANNIVERSARY THIS IS THE CLUB’S 60TH YEAR. PRESIDENT Irecently received this citation, which has been presented to the Kansas City Region Porsche Club from the Porsche Club of America. It is representative of every member who has driven Porsches, reset cones, enjoyed social gatherings, volunteered by helping with event planning and execution, come to breakfast, modified a Porsche, purified a Porsche, and by joining supports KCRPCA in more ways than can be mentioned. Many car clubs don’t survive for a variety of reasons, but very few survive for over 65 years. From that there are many chapters that have been active for up to 60 years and more, on their own. I had a conversation with the wife of a member from another region, and she said she’s realized that Porsche owners are different. Her husband is surprised at the level of support he receives from everyone he calls and asks “dumb questions”. I don’t know that we are any different, as much as we are alike in our enjoyment of Porsche’s performance, its build quality, and great respect for the racing heritage of Porsche Motorsports. I think it’s what we have in common, and I know I’ve asked a lot of “dumb questions”.
