Right after the 4th of July, I spotted
several Porsches, with license plates
from states east and south of us,
heading west on I-70. About 10 days later,
I spotted many of the same cars on I-70, but
this time, they were traveling east and had
white and black numbers on their windows.
This was not a hard one to gure out: they
had been at Porsche Parade.

Each year, PCA hosts an annual convention called Parade. Parade is a week-long extrav- aganza of competitive events, banquets, so- cial events, driving tours, and seminars. Pa- rade began in 1956 when 64 PCA members gathered at a motel in suburban Washington, D.C. for four days, to enjoy each other’s friendship. A “parade” of Porsches through the countryside during this time gave the an- nual convention its name. Parade travels to a different location each year, giving PCA members opportunities to explore different parts of North America. For some families, Parade is their annual vacation. Members of the Porsche family travel from Germany to attend Parade.
Parade gives PCA members an opportu- nity to connect with members from all over North America. Incredible friendships are forged at Parade. I have friends from Penn- sylvania, South Carolina, British Columbia,
