San Diego and Florida that I only see at Pa- rade. Each year it’s the same: we spot each other at registration and pick right back up where we left off the summer before.
2017 marked the 62nd year of Porsche Pa- rade. FromJuly9-15,over2,600PCAmem- bers and their cars descended upon beautiful Spokane, Washington.
Now for a confession: I traveled by air- plane, not by Porsche. In my defense, my traveling companion was my two-year-old son. He’s really cute, but a terrible naviga- tor with no patience for a 1600-mile drive.
Parade began on Sunday, July 9th with the PCA Summer Board of Directors Meeting. Several pieces of business were discussed, including the PCA Vision 2020 plan (an ini- tiative to reach 100,000 primary members by the year 2020), the national budget, new voting procedures, and members of the PCA Executive Council, the Zone Reps, and the National Committee Chairs all presented their reports. We were introduced to Klaus
Zellmer, the new President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. We also bid farewell to a dear PCA friend, Paul Gregor. For the past  ve years, Paul Gregor has served as Club Liaison in his role at Porsche. He and his family will be returning to Ger- many, where he will continue to work with Porsche. Paul has done amazing things for PCA and will be greatly missed.
On Sunday evening, Parade was of cially kicked off with the Welcome Party, spon- sored by Pirelli. The party was held out- doors, just steps away from the Spokane River. Following the party, some went to bed. Others went to the hotel bar. But the real action was in the parking garage: late- night car detailing was in full swing. The Parade Concours d’Elegance was the fol- lowing day.
