and newer model, turbo or non turbo. Just bolting the plenum on most cars is going to make around 15hp/10-12tq with a more power in the midrange. Now couple that with a larger throttle body and you will see gains over 20hp easily. Then add your higher  owing intake and exhaust, and you can see even more gains. Turbo cars will see even better gains. You can read all about the plenums on IPD’s website at www.ipdplenums.com on the exact mechanics and horsepower gains for your speci c model. Enough of this small talk; you get the idea. This is all truly bolt on horsepower and can be completed in under 2 hours for the average guy.
2006 Cayman S Plenum Replacement.
This is actually not your normal stock Cayman, but rather a 4.0L engine built by Flat Six Innovations. The footprint is still the same for what we are doing though. This car will de nitely bene t from more air ow!
In the picture above you can see the long angled T plenum with the throttle body attached to it. That is coming out!
Below is the IPD competition intake plenum system for the 987.1 Cayman. We are also installing the larger factory GT3 throttle body, which is larger in diameter for the additional air  ow.
Below, the factory plenum and throttle body have been removed. It is fairly straight forward, but you do need to be careful of the plastic hoses you need to disconnect from the old plenum as they can get brittle with time and break.
