With so many variables that can change a schedule, like needing to alter a route to a place, an illness, weather, the group of people, transportation – what- ever – can throw the trip off kilter and maybe your ”dreamed about” experi- ence. An impromptu trip Friday, after a little Cinco De Mayo late lunch to one of the local Porsche dealerships in “the van”, took some interesting detours. I have no idea who was navigating (was that you, David, Stan or?), but we actually got to see some pretty interesting neighbor- hoods and architecture – and that was a good thing. Hey, being 5 0’clock Atlanta traf c, it was actually better than just sit- ting on the highway!
The Porsche Perimeter dealership folks could not have been nicer – 15 or so PCA members unloading on their dealership without notice. It was somewhat rain- ing, so not a lot of shopping traf c at the time. I understood this to be one of the newer designed facilities and it showed. I loved the drop off area and a service tech ready to greet you. Big windows to view the working area, which was very clean. Of course, a few of us (me includ- ed) found something to purchase (non- power related) and we had coffee/water for our enjoyment. Hmmm, I think I saw a few sneak a cookie as well. Their se- lection of new (and some key pre-owned vehicles upstairs) were impressive to say the least. After seeing a price tag of a low mileage 1998 993TT (black on black that could have used a clay bar de- tail we concluded), Fred’s wheels were turning about his similar car in silver.
