be treated to a ride with one of Porsches professional drivers including Hurley Haywood. Each person in attendance was to don a helmet and get in line for a ride in a GT3RS. Each car was staged at the end of the runway, launch control engaged and we took off like a caged animal nding its freedom! We ran the length of the runway hitting about 165 before doing a 360 and running as hard as the car would go back to the staging area. Arriving back at the staging area, you jumped out so the next person would
climb on board for the same experience. This continued throughout the day with every person getting the experience of the GTR3RS! The cars did amazingly well until late afternoon and who knows how many launches!
Hurley Haywood’s GT3RS failed someplace midway through the nal group. Hesitating on the line prior to launch brought it down.
Our nal move of the day was an auto- cross. You drove a 718 or a 911 through an autocross course 2 times. If you were driving the 911, you switched to the 718 or vice versa. Pretty good deal to og someone else’s car for a few minutes.
The tests were over! Cliff was amazed at the capability of Porsche. He was pleased at the event overall. Keep- ing a dyed in the wool Corvette person engaged all day is a testimony for the event. I am satis ed that there is another Werks Reunion on my calendar in future. When and where remains to be seen. I do believe that another Porsche Driving Experience is in my future!
