PRESIDENT’S COLUMN
Stan Thorne
“We are here to tell you it’s okay. It’s okay to sit in your Porsche and smile. It’s okay to look for the long twisty roads from childhood. It’s okay to want to get out and drive your Porsche. We get it. In fact, we celebrate it. We celebrate Porsche ownership by creating unique driving and social experiences for our club members. Whether it is a dinner drive or track event, a gimmick run or an autocross, we celebrate driving our Porsches. Come join nearly 750 other Porsche owners who like to get out and drive. We are the Kansas City Region Porsche Club of America.”
calendar of events to help you celebrate the ownership of your Porsche.
With 26 events on the calendar this year, we have given you a lot of opportunities to celebrate. Breakfast is probably the most well attended, with 30 to 40 people showing up every Saturday. The trip to Porsche’s Experience Center in Atlanta, GA was a huge success. (Thanks again, Ric Smith, for organizing). And our rst club trip overseas will be this fall. Holly Juckette, our Social Chair, is organizing a tour of the Porsche factory and a castle river cruise. I’m sure it will be spectacular!

My point here is that you should be very proud and thankful of your Board Members. They put in a lot of time; not only coming up with ideas, but also guring out how to put those ideas into action, and then into an event. Think about it. Someone has to nd the hidden back roads, create maps and then lead the fun runs. Rudy and a team of volunteers show up early to put together our autocross events. It is effort, but it is a labor of love.
Do you love celebrating Porsche ownership like we do? Contact me via email. When a position opens up, we will need someone to ll it.

Those are the words that greet visitors who come to our website. (www.kcrpca.org) There is a lot of truth behind that vision statement. We do celebrate Porsche ownership. And it takes a team to do it.
Your board and I meet monthly to discuss past events and how we can make them better. We brainstorm future events, discussing what sounds fun. Somewhere in there we come up with a
