typically set off in an old Series I Landrover hauling a trailer stuffed
with canvas tents and equipment that would support them in the bush
for two to three weeks at a time. The boys walked through game-rich
savannas led by their father, armed with an old 303 rifle and a curiosity
to learn about the African bush.

Unknowingly, these childhood expeditions laid the foundation for
Bushtracks Expeditions, started in 1991 by David Tett and his American
wife, Carolyn, and his two brothers, Nicholas and Christopher.

Over the last 24 years, we have shared the intimate, authentic safari
experience of David’s youth with several thousand travelers. Many
of them have been twice with us. Some have returned three or four
times, and two couples have explored Africa more than nine times with
Bushtracks, which is a true testament to the endless-fascination and
life-changing experiences of this extraordinary continent.

Our passion and focus for African safaris has also been recognized by
National Geographic Expeditions, Smithsonian Journeys,
Lindblad Expeditions, and the African Wildlife Foundation,
and others, who have entrusted Bushtracks to operate their safaris.
Underscoring their ongoing commitment to Africa’s land and people,
David and Carolyn Tett were invited in 2013 to become inaugural
Council Members of the African Wildlife Foundation, a leading
international conservation organization focused solely on Africa, and
headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.
