According to Carroll & Wilson (1993)Narrative text has three main
structures and one optional structure, including:
1. Orientation
Setting the beginning of the story and introducing the characters (who,
when, what, and where).
2. Complication
Describes the problem in the story and how the main character solves the
problem. This section covers situations, activities or events that cause
problems/complex to the climax that can be seen when a crisis arises.
3. Resolution
A downward crisis is usually for the better but can also be worse.
4. Reorientation (optional)
Usually indicates the end of the story is usually a happy or sad ending.
