“I strive to develop client vision, physical space, richness of materials, and craft to create timeless and inspirational architecture.”
After graduating from the University of Arkansas in 1996 with a professional degree in architecture, Patrick moved to Boston and joined a large rm, working on projects in hospitality, high-rise mixed use, senior living, educational, and others. He discovered his passion for residential design while working on Millennium Place Boston. The rm had a small team designing custom homes, and Patrick has focused on residential design ever since.
In 2004 Patrick moved to Phoenix, Arizona to continue specializing in custom residences, but two of his passions – sailing and modern architecture—lay dormant. He moved to the Paci c Northwest and joined Coates Design in 2014 to work in the contemporary trends of architecture found in the Seattle area, similar to early 20th century modernism. Living on Liberty Bay in Poulsbo is allowing him to reconnect with sailing as well.
“Great spaces and good design are universal whatever style they come in. Light, volume, rhythm, openness, proportion, and scale – these are all aspects a well-conceived design.”
