Development (SRSD) Research

SRSD is selecting 100 K-5 schools to participate in free federally
funded evidenced-based PD training in the Self Regulated Strategy
Development (SRSD) Writing Instruction Method. This PD offers a
comprehensive and flexible pedagogical framework that supports educators in teaching close reading
and writing and works with your curriculum. It is effective because it provides a framework plus a toolkit
of explicit instruction in the key sub skills required (including SEL) that support students in evolving into
independent writers.

Preferred requirements to participate include high needs schools with daily writing instruction, 50% or
near F/RL and low or declining ELA proficiency. District schools who consent to participate will be ran-
domly chosen to take part in the first year(s), then every school will receive it in the following year(s).
Generous stipends will also be provided.

Attention Elementary Library Media Specialist !

Since the formation of the secondary library media spe-
cialist forum in 2019, there has been a need for elemen-

tary librarians to have a space for productive collabora-

tion and support.

A forum for elementary librarians (K-6) will begin in September 2022!

If you are an elementary LMS, keep an eye out for an invitation in early
August. It will also be placed in the ESC Works so you can acquire PD

hours. Dr. Greiner will be facilitating the forum. This will be a wonderful

opportunity for elementary librarians to get together, share ideas, and
gain support from each other. We can’t wait to support you!
