(10:29) Can We Afford to Ignore
the Science of Reading? In this
Ted Talk, 7th grade language
arts teacher, Melissa Hostetter,
talks about the need to em-
brace the research surrounding
the Science of Reading.
This fabulous little video (5:00) discusses
the differences in the brain that is ready to
learn verses the one that is in perpetual
survival mode due to trauma. As you work
with students this year, this video will help
you spot some of the behaviors associat-
ed with students experiencing trauma.
