THE AMERICAN HIPPIE
The American Hippie
With streaming down hair
Gets eyes from the people
Who don't seem to care
A look of disgust at his hippie like beads
They don't seem to care of his wants or his needs
All they can see is a radical move
An insult to society that's not in the groove
He's a misfit, a nuisance, some kind of bum
He's crazy and weird and some say he's dumb
He represents a decade that's destined for change
Elders don't realize their time's out of range
They don't give a damn of who he is, just how he looks
Cause it's the hippies who populate their cities with crooks
The rednecks and jocks have their own point of view
They gaze at a hippie like he's something not true
Look at that hippie, the lousy bum
Long haired queers who don't know how to have fun
They pop their pills and smoke their weed
Don't even play sports, yes they're bums indeed
Look at that hippie, check out his clothes
No varsity coat, no letter, just high as he goes
Stoned red eyes, get the Visene
