Page 43 - Inspired by Something
P. 43
Yea man I'm hip, far out, what's he mean?
Rock n Roll weirdoes' to the concerts they go
What they hear on Rif is all that they know
Why can't they play sports, why can't they read books?
Those hippie like radicals who turn into crooks
But the hippie himself has a mind of his own
Doesn't care about jocks or the elders who moan
He says yes, I'm a hippy, I am indeed
I pop my pills and smoke my weed
This is my bag as you've got yours
Like the janitor who mops up messes from floors
My hair is long and my beard is too
And my beads are in, for me, that's true
But I aint' no radical and I ain't no bum
The people who think this, they are the dumb
I don't hurt them so why should they care
About my bushy beard or streaming down hair
I don't really care how they think I look
I'm no menace to society and I ain't no crook
I like to play sports and I like to read books
But they prejudize me for my ideas and looks
I cause few problems but none the less
I'm not a bum cause the way I dress
I'll speak my lingo and rock n roll
Listen to the radio and smoke my bowl
I'm a human in heart just like you
I think it's about time ya'all got the clue
