Task: Exigent Home/Curtilage Entry

          Stanton v. Sims, 134 S. Ct. 3 (U.S. 2013).

          • The law is not clearly established as to whether an officer is justified

in entering a private home or the curtilage of a private home while in

hot pursuit of a fleeing misdemeanant.

          • Note: this decision gave the officer qualified immunity in a lawsuit

brought against the officer for entering the curtilage of a home in

               pursuit of a fleeing misdemeanant.
