U.S. v. Jones, 132 S.Ct. 945 (2012).
• The placement of a global positioning device as well as the retrieval
of location data from the vehicle constitutes a search under the
Fourth Amendment and therefore must be supported by a warrant or
an exception to the warrant requirement.
