Task: Miranda’s Public Safety Exception
New York v. Quarles, 467 U.S. 649 (1984).
An officer need not give Miranda warnings to question an in-custody
suspect regarding items that pose a danger to public safety.
Example:
• Where’s the gun?
• Where’s the bomb?
