Macomb County and St. Clair County share the respon-

sibility of helping to keep us safe around Lake St. Clair, the

St. Clair River, and the many connecting channels and wa-

terways. Each year they are glad to chat and offer some ad-

vice based on last season’s events - both good & bad. Both

Lieutenant Reid and Sergeant Bednard are boaters too, and

hope we will be safe and enjoy our time on the water.

Accidents happen on the water, and most of them can

be prevented. Sadly there were six boating related deaths

around Lake St. Clair and the St. Clair River in 2016. Two

people jumped off boats and did not come up, three hunters
