Description
Raw water is flocculated and fed into a first
“contact” zone of the DAF, where it is mixed
with a recycle stream, taken from the clarified
product, which is saturated saturated with air.
The small bubbles formed as pressure is
released in the recycle stream, float the
flocculated solids to the top of the second,
“flotation” zone, where the floated sludge is
removed by a scraper, or lifting of water
surface. Clarified water is abstracted at the
bottom of the flotation zone of the DAF tank.
